Drew Bechtel and the NYC Marathon

Hey, I am a little late with this post because the race is this weekend but better late then never.  My cousin Drew Bechtel is a type 1 Diabetic and has been since he was 5.  I remember as a kid playing video games at our Grandparents and having to watch him take his needles multiple times a day.  I was able to see first hand how serious Diabetes can be and how much time and effort it takes to try to live a normal life.

There have been some amazing advancements in the care of Diabetes and this has allowed Drew to achieve some amazing things.   He has run multiple half marathons and one marathon.   Drew is now running the New York City Marathon in support of the JDRF ( Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation ) to help fund research to help battle Juvenile Diabetes so other kids can achieve what he has been able to.

Please visit his donation page to find out more about him and if you can make a donation to the JDRF.
